Our April 18 Party with a Purpose event:
Joy, terror, and sadness are some of the emotions that swirled throughout Chapel Hill in April 1865. Defeat, victory, and freedom also walked the town during the dark days before the dawn of peace. Join Civil War historian Ernest Dollar for a costumed, lantern-lit, guided walking tour of historical sites significant to this chapter of Chapel Hill's history. Along the way, meet dramatic characters anxious to tell their tales. At the tour's end, enjoy a merry fireside feast of period food at a Union encampment.
