Bill Friday served as the president of the Consolidated University of North Carolina for thirty years (1956-1986). He continues to be a vital voice in the community and state. His weekly public television show "North Carolina People" entertains and enlightens with his warm interviews of notable personalities. The Chapel Hill Historical Society included him in their first class of "Town Treasures" in 2008.
