June 1 - September 5, 2006
Flora and Fauna of North Carolina
This exhibit of mixed media nature illustrations is brought to the Chapel Hill Museum by the GSNI Carolinas, a chapter of the national Guild of Natural Science Illustrators. Members of the guild include scientific illustrators, botanical and wildlife illustrators, book illustrators, students, and authors who receive professional peer support through regular meetings, group critiques and business networking. The Guild holds group exhibitions, field trips, monthly museum sketching days and other events.
Focusing on the flora and fauna found across the state of North Carolina, 17 artists will exhibit their varied works, from botanicals to wildlife, in the Museum's West Gallery from June 1 through September 6, 2006. Two education programs for area children will be presented throughout the run of the exhibit. Call the Museum for details.
